Web Design

Why Seminole? Because the web is where ideas come to life—and students deserve the tools, platforms, and real-world experience to design, build, and launch them.

The Web Design & Development program at Seminole High School prepares students to become creators of the digital world, not just consumers of it. Students work hands-on with industry-standard tools and technologies, learning how to design, code, and publish real websites that are functional, user-friendly, and visually compelling. From day one, students are building the same kinds of digital experiences used in business, education, entertainment, and e-commerce.

Beginning with Foundations of Web Design, students are introduced to core principles of layout, color theory, typography, digital design, and responsive web structure while building skills in HTML5 and CSS.

In User Interface Design, students focus on how users interact with digital platforms, developing strong UX/UI design skills and learning how to create intuitive, accessible, and engaging web experiences. This course also aligns with industry expectations for the CIW UX/UI Designer certification pathway.

As students progress into Web Scripting Fundamentals, they begin working with JavaScript, bringing websites to life through interactivity, dynamic content, and functional web applications.

In Media Integration Essentials, students learn how to combine graphics, video, audio, and interactive elements into fully developed web experiences using modern design tools and web workflows.

E-commerce & Marketing Essentials introduces students to online business concepts, digital branding, and website marketing strategies, including how websites are used to drive engagement, sales, and audience growth.

Finally, in Interactivity Essentials, students bring everything together by developing advanced interactive web projects that simulate real-world client needs and industry expectations.

Throughout the program, students also gain experience with platforms such as WordPress, along with foundational and advanced skills in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design. These skills prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and career pathways in web development, UX/UI design, digital marketing, and content management.

At Seminole, students don’t just learn how to build websites—they learn how to create digital experiences that inform, engage, and inspire.
