Why Seminole? Because at Seminole, the sky truly is the limit.

The Aviation Program of Emphasis is a state-of-the-art pathway at Seminole High School designed to prepare students for employment or advanced training in the aviation industry. This hands-on program gives students real-world experience with professional aviation tools, flight training materials, simulators, and even access to an actual Cessna 150 aircraft and a Robinson R22HP helicopter.

In a field facing a severe global shortage of pilots and technicians, Seminole’s aviation pathway gives students a powerful head start toward high-demand careers. Through the Private Pilot Ground School, students build essential knowledge required for flight readiness, including airport markings, weather interpretation, chart reading, and core flight safety principles used in pre-flight inspection and decision-making.

After Ground School, students continue into aviation maintenance training, gaining hands-on experience in the inner workings of aircraft systems and developing skills that prepare them for careers in flight, engineering, and maintenance.

The program also offers pathways in advanced aviation technology. In the Electronics and Avionics track, students explore the high-tech systems that power modern aircraft, including flight control, navigation, and communication systems. Students work directly with wiring, electronics, soldering, troubleshooting circuits, and proper use of aviation-grade tools through project-based labs that reinforce real-world problem solving and technical precision.

At Seminole, aviation students don’t just study flight—they experience it. With industry-level equipment, certification opportunities, and hands-on learning, they graduate with the skills, confidence, and direction to take off into college programs and careers in the aviation industry.
