Advanced Placement

2019 - 2020 AP Testing Information

  • Parents please be advised that College Board has changed the registration process for Advanced Placement (AP) exams for the 19-20 school year. All students enrolled in AP courses must sit for the AP exams in May. All tests have already been ordered for year-long and first semester courses.
  • FEES: If a course/exam is dropped, there is a $40 drop fee assessed by College Board. If a student "no-shows" for the exam there is a $94 fee ($142 for Capstone courses) assessed. If a student needs to change the standard test date to a late exam for a non-school approved function (Ie; a wedding, sibling college graduation, etc), the student will be assessed a $40 change fee AND a $94 test order fee ($142 for Capstone courses). Students who transfer from another school and were previously enrolled in AP and previously had a test ordered for them may transfer and take the AP test with no fee attached.
  • Please see the 2020 AP Exam Dates (posted below). This schedule is created by College Board. College Board does not offer "makeup" exams. Any student who enrolls in a semester AP course in January will need to get the registration code for the test from their teacher by mid-January.
  • Please contact Dr Michelle Backel, administrator over AP Testing, at michelle_backel@scps.k12.fl.us if there are any questions.
