EARN MONEY FOR YOUR SCHOOL!

Simon Scholars
Seminole Towne Center Contest
Rules for Schools
Contest dates:  August 7- November 30, 2015      


*Shoppers will earn one point for every $1 spent at Seminole Towne Center. Shoppers can then apply those points to the participating school of their choice. Shoppers purchasing Simon Mall Giftcards or enrolling in Kidgits will receive double points.  

*When a customer makes a purchase at Seminole Towne Center, they simply visit the Simon Guest Services Booth, (located in the mall’s Center Court on the lower level), indicate which school they would like their points designated to and the Guest Services representatives will stamp the receipt and log the points in the selected school’s account and on the school’s log sheet.  

*Each school’s points will be tallied on a scoreboard located in the mall at the Simon Guest Service Booth. The school may contact the mall at 407-323-1843 for an update on its progress.  

* At the end of the contest, the top three schools that have earned the most points will receive monetary prizes of $1,500, $1,000 and $500 respectively.

*Winning schools may use the awards at their discretion for needed equipment, computer software or other necessities.

Receipts from stores located outside of Seminole Towne Center or outside of the contest dates will not be accepted. The mall has the sole right to disqualify a member or members’ point donation if it is suspected that the points were accumulated fraudulently.

SUMMER SCHOOL

2nd Session starts June 22, 2015 Registrations starts @ &:00 am in Cafeteria"  If you are not a Seminole High School student, you must bring your transcript or report card(Please contact Dr. Mizzell @ 407.320.5113 or 407.320.5053).  There are still space for Driver's Education from 11:20am- 4:00pm (Please contact Mr. Wynn @ 407.320.5106).

June 22nd-July 15th:      Summer School Session 2
School System closed June 29th- July 3rd

Seminole High School will host Summer School, Driver's Ed, Boot Camp, and Transition.
Student Summer School Applications must be turned in to their Guidance Counselor by April 17, 2015

SUMMER TESTING DATE & INFORMATION

Algebra 1 Retakes (for students who completed Algebra 1 prior to the  2014-2015 school year), Biology, US History- July 16

Algebra 1 (for students who completed Algebra 1 in 2014-2015) – July 20 and 21 (two day test, must be present both days)

Geometry and Algebra 2- July 22 and 23 (two day test, must be present both days)

Students with an IEP/Section 504 plan with a paper test accommodation must have all testing  completed prior to July 17.

 Who should take an EOC in the summer?

-          A student who was absent during the testing/makeup times during the school year

-          A student who has received a score that is not passing AND wants to retake the EOC to try and improve the course grade

-          An Algebra 1 score that is not passing. All students in Florida must not only take the Algebra 1 EOC, but must pass it in order to earn a standard high school diploma

Please use this form to register for a summer EOC. (Click HERE to download the form.)  Walk-ins are NOT permitted. All students must be pre-registered by 3:00pm Thursday, June 25. Forms should be dropped off in the front office.

Students who are pre-registered should report to the Media Center by 7:15am on their assigned testing day.

There are no makeup/alternate days for summer testing. 


PRIVATE, HOMESCHOOLED & OUT OF STATE STUDENTS

ELA SCREENING ASSESSMENT for the 2015-16 SCHOOL YEAR

Students enrolling in Seminole High School for the 2015-2016 school year from a private school, homeschool, or out-of-state school, will be taking the Language Arts screening assessment to ensure that students are enrolled in the appropriate level English/Reading class. We will be administering the Language Arts screening assessment from 8 a.m.–11 a.m. on May 20th, 2015, in the Media Center, Room-2Q. The assessment your child will be taking will measure comprehension and fluency, as well as their ability to apply critical reading skills and literary elements to various texts. The results will be reported to you directly by email in the summer and you will receive information about your child’s individual performance on the assessment he/she took, as well as placement for English and Reading.
