Gifted Student Information

Parents/Guardians of Gifted Freshman:
We are happy to welcome your child to Seminole High School for the 2014-2015 school year.  It is now time to update your child’s Gifted Education Plan for high school at a Gifted GROUP PARENT meeting.  Counselors, teachers, and gifted specialists will also be available to review your student’s new Educational Plan for high school.

We will meet AS A GROUP between the Freshman Orientation sessions at 12: 00 PM, August 4, 2014, in the Media Center.  You will be receiving a letter of the date and your scheduled time for Freshman Orientation from SHS during the summer.

The link to the Parent Participation Forms (Form 508), the Procedural Safeguard for Gifted Students, and Parent Input for Incoming 9th Graders (1356) is located on the SHS website under GIFTED.  Please sign and return one copy of each at the meeting to be placed in your student’s gifted file . The Procedural Safe Guards for Gifted Students can also be found on the SCPS website under Gifted Services.
Feel free to bring and include any additional letters or input that will help with the high school Educational Plan.  We feel parent input is vital to adequately plan for your child’s educational future.
