Get involved!!! Join your SHS PTSA for the 2012-2013 school year. ANYONE can join...parents, teachers, students, staff, grandparents, friends, neighbors, community members! By joining PTSA, you add your voice to a powerful national organization that advocates for all our children. At Seminole, the members of PTSA collaborate with administration, guidance, teachers, and other student and parent groups to help enrich the experiences of students, bring valuable resources to parents, and assist the teachers and staff who give so much to our kids each day. Some of the projects we are proud of include:
•        Parent Pow Wow
•        Ms. SHS
•        Project Graduation
•        Reflections
•        Homecoming
•        Mini-grants for student activities
•        Teacher appreciation celebrations
Members receive periodic email newsletters/messages that help increase and reinforce the communication of the huge volume of things to know about SHS activities and resources. We also encourage everyone to take advantage of the Parent Pow Wow and guidance programs through the year to make sure your student is on track for academic success. 

Adult memberships are available for $6 and we have a discounted student membership program ($4 including a spirit wristband) designed to encourage students to show support for their school and for the opportunity to participate in some scholarship opportunities and to win homecoming dance tickets and other special awards. You can contact us at SHS.PTSA@gmail.com and Membership Chair, Diane Whitley, will assist you in joining. 

The PTSA needs more members to join our board of directors so that we can continue to provide the support of projects like those listed above. On average, an active board member spends one to five hours per month on PTSA — and in return gains personal contacts with administrators, guidance counselors, teachers, and other parents; helps maintain the Seminole community; and sets a great example for the students.
